A lot of times I come across problem on my P2015 LaserJet printer, and discovered that the printer is self picking or command of paper, that bordered me and I make a lot of research looking for a way to tackle the problem on my own instead of taking it to a technician work shop, so I make a research and I came to discovered that problems related to such an issue are caused by the solenoid.
What exactly is solenoid
solenoid is a square shaped metal helds together with the aid of a spring and separated by some gums, the solenoid acts as an instructor to the picker in LaserJet P2015,it gives the picker the command to pickup paper from the tray of the printer.
Working is the working principles of the solenoid
After the printer is powerd on the printer initialized and make every part of it to be ready for printing, and after the printer receive command from the user on how many pages and copies to print the information is passed out to the solenoid vials electric signals by the sensor.
The solenoid receive the information and act on that information by telling the picker the number of times it should pick up paper from the tray, and the situation where by the solenoid develop a problem what happens to the picker?.
What happens if the solenoid stop functioning
From what I said earlier from the working principle of the solenoid it gives the picker the command and the numbers of pages to print, and remember the solenoid is separated by gums in other to prevent some metal surface from coming in contact, due to the heat generated while working the gum melted gradually, and when melted to the point where the metal iron came to contact the solenoid become free, and acts like an open circuit.
Therby allowing the electric signals to passes directly to the picker which causes the picker to pickup the whole of papers in the tray.
Possible solutions to the problems
In this kind of case one has to proffer solution to it, because you will not want your paper to be wasted for the pages of writing that you don't want, and that is where it call for technician intervention, but you knowing the problem already open the door for correction already.
instead of taking the printer to a technician you can replace the solenoid so as to fix the problem, and if you don't have the money to purchase a new solenoid at that moment look for a gum or a tape that you will use to separate the metal from coming into contact,by so doing you have save the money that should have been given to the technician.
